
My Spin on Space Invaders
This is just a screenshot of the current state of my space invaders-esque game, whilst it functions, I still have many features I would like to implement and improve upon in the future, but that is for the future. Currently there is a scoring system that when an enemy is destroyed the player gains a certain amount of points.
The other icons are how many enemies are left alive, how many the player has destroyed and the health system for when the player takes damage, throughout the development the end goal has been and is that it needs to be a fully interactive and cohesive game, at this point it is cohesive but I strive to further improve upon the current state of the game .
The player character has a fully interactive sprite sheet that updates when the player moves, for example when moving left thrusters on the right of the ship light up indicating that the player has made an input and the game is now reacting to that, this comes in multiple forms, players guns light up green when shooting , but this projectile system has not been incorporated properly yet, but does function and it is the same with the enemies.
